When Easter Didn’t Go As Planned… RV Life Update

 Hey friends,

So… let’s talk about Easter Sunday.

It didn’t exactly go the way we planned.

We’re so thankful for the long-term folks here at the park—we really are—but yesterday was one of those days where boundaries just weren’t respected. Every time I picked up the paint gun and got into a groove… I got interrupted. Over and over again.

And not for emergencies.

We’re talking questions about RV parts, help with things people could’ve handled themselves… things we’re not even being paid to do. And after a couple of hours of that stop-and-go, I hit a wall.

I was overwhelmed. Frustrated. Yep… a little grumpy.

So I finally looked at Mark and said, “I need out.”
And we left the park so I could reset.

Because sometimes—you just have to step away.

But here’s the good news… progress IS happening πŸ™Œ

✔️ The living room is DONE (finally!)
🎯 Next up: bedroom and bathroom
🎨 We’ve already gone through 4 cans of primer—and we’re probably looking at 2 more to finish it all up

And honestly? The fun part is starting to sneak in.

We’ve got dΓ©cor, trim, and all the pretty finishing pieces coming in… and they’re just sitting there in boxes waiting for their moment. It’s like Christmas… but we’re not allowed to open the presents yet πŸ˜‚

Moving forward, we’ve got a plan:

➡️ 4–6 hours every Sunday dedicated to the remodel
➡️ Stay consistent
➡️ Keep pushing forward no matter what

We’re aiming for a May 1st finish—and I really do think we can get there.

BUT…

The biggest stress right now? The kitchen countertop.

We have to hire that out, and let me tell you… getting people to call back or even give a quote has been frustrating beyond belief.

And one quote we DID get?

$800 per rocking chair… just for two cushions… and I provide the fabric?!

Yeah… no. That was an easy decision πŸ˜…

Where we got the PLASTIC FROM

Utah has been a little tough when it comes to finding reliable service work, but honestly—it’s pushing us to learn things ourselves. And that’s been kind of empowering.

We’re growing in ways we didn’t expect.

Because this isn’t just about remodeling an RV…

This is about a dream.

We want to boondock.
We want to save money.
And we want to use that freedom to serve others while we’re on the road.

Not out of vanity—but out of purpose.

To get there, we’ve got some big goals we’re working toward:

✨ Growing Me Gone RVing Adventures on social media
✨ Hitting our investment targets
✨ Building TravelingTownCrier.com to at least 6 solid clients
✨ And finding a strong remote sales role (because seriously—Mark is AMAZING on the phones)

The hardest part right now?

Finding two solid days off each week to focus on OUR goals… so the other five days of workamping can run smoothly.

That balance… it’s not easy.

But one of the best parts of this journey?

The people.

We’re meeting other full-time RVers who are all figuring this life out, just like we are. And there’s something really special about encouraging each other, learning from each other, and just being in it together.

This life isn’t always easy.

But it’s real.
It’s stretching us.
It’s growing us.

And it’s worth it.

Small steps. Big vision. We’re getting there. πŸ’›πŸš

When RV Life Gets Real: A Broken Phone, Budget Shifts & Calling All Brands

Sometimes RV life is sunsets and campfires…

…and sometimes it’s face meets pavement, phone meets disaster.

Yep—it happened again.

Unbelievably, Evielynne took another fall, and this time the casualty was (you guessed it)… her cell phone. The last time a phone went down like this was back in February 2022, so we were due, right? πŸ˜…

🚐 The Fall Heard Around the Campground

It all went down at Willard Bay.

We had just pulled up to enjoy a relaxing sauna night cleaning. Evielynne stepped out of the truck, her foot hit the water drain just right—and down she went. Hard.

And somehow?

She still got up and finished the job she was being paid for. πŸ’ͺ

Because that’s who she is.

Every bit of that hard work goes straight into our future—our Root Real Estate Investments and our RV dreams.

πŸ’» Why This Isn’t Just “A Broken Phone”

For most people, a broken phone is an inconvenience.

For us? It’s business critical.

Evielynne runs her remote business, TravelingTownCrier.com, directly from her phone. Social media management, client communication, content creation—it all happens right there in her hand.

So replacing it?

πŸ‘‰ Not optional.
πŸ‘‰ Not negotiable.

What we paid for it 2 years ago

πŸ’Έ The Reality Check

Have you looked at cell phone prices lately?!

We’re now staring at $600–$1000 for a replacement. And honestly… it stings.

Why?

Because that money was supposed to go toward our RV remodel—something we’ve been working incredibly hard to budget for and stay on track with.

This wasn’t part of the plan.
But RV life teaches you one thing fast:

πŸ‘‰ Plans change. You adapt.

πŸ“Ά One Smart Move We Did Make

The good news? Not everything is expensive.

A few years ago, we made the decision to ditch traditional phone contracts (we were paying around $90 per line 😳).

Now we’re with Mint Mobile, and we pay:

πŸ‘‰ $60 a month for TWO lines
πŸ‘‰ Unlimited service
πŸ‘‰ No contracts

That decision alone has saved us thousands—and it’s exactly the kind of smart budgeting we rely on to make this lifestyle work.

πŸ”§ RV Life = Real Life Testing

Here’s the truth about living full-time on the road:

Nothing is “gentle use.”

Everything gets tested in:

  • Dusty campsites
  • Rainy days
  • Coffee spills ☕
  • Tight spaces
  • And yes… the occasional unexpected fall πŸ˜…

Which got us thinking…

πŸ˜‚ Calling All Brands… We Volunteer as Tribute!

If there was ever a time to say this—it’s now:

πŸ‘‰ Hey brands… we’re ready to collaborate!

We’re a full-time RV couple living life the REAL way. No studio setups. No perfect conditions. Just everyday, on-the-road living.

Got a product you believe in?

Let’s put it to the test 😎

We’ll:
✔️ Use it in real RV life (the good, the messy, and the funny)
✔️ Share honest, no-fluff reviews
✔️ Show it in action with our community
✔️ Tell the truth—because that’s what people trust

Bonus:
If your product survives our lifestyle…

πŸ‘‰ It can survive anything πŸ’ͺπŸ˜‚

❤️ The Bigger Picture

Yes, buying a new phone wasn’t in the remodel budget.

Yes, it shifts things around.

But this journey we’re on? It’s bigger than perfect plans.

We’re building:

  • A future of financial freedom
  • A life on the road
  • A business that travels with us
  • And a community that grows with us

Sometimes that means rolling with the unexpected…

…and sometimes it means turning a broken phone into a new opportunity.

πŸ“¬ Let’s Connect

Brands we love, brands we haven’t met yet…

πŸ‘‰ Our DMs are open.

Let’s create something fun, real, and valuable—together.

Because at the end of the day, this RV life?

It’s not perfect.

But it’s 100% real. 🚐✨
